Unfiltered thoughts from a bisexual switch
I was a little shocked when I logged on to Twitter yesterday to see a tweet from Mrs Jones that TMI Tuesday was no more.
I have not been a part of the TMI Tuesday community for long, maybe a dozen or so posts over the last 6 months. So seeing such a long running weekly prompt disappear is a shock to the system.
So I wish Hedone the best of luck going forward.
1 – Who in your family is most likely to be attacked by a bear?
That would probably be me, but only because I’m likely to be the one sacrificed by the rest of the family to save themselves.
2 – When using a urinal, where do you look?
When I do use a urinal, depends how the Prince Albert is sitting/mood, I’m generally a wall starer, the higher the better to avoid being caught catching a glimpse of someone else’s junk, or spotting them trying to catch a glimpse of my piercing 😏
3 – When was the last time you actually spoke with a telemarketer?
I spoke with one the other week, tried selling me a new insurance policy, wouldn’t take no for an answer so I just went silent on them until they decided to hang up.
4 – Which vegetable would make a decent weapon?
I’m going for a whole potato in an air cannon wrapped in a sabot rather than a Potato Gun.
5 – Do you clap at the end of an airplane flight?
What is this rubbish? Never have I clapped at the end of a flight, nor have I witnessed it.
Bonus: New Year’s Resolutions, did you make any?
I haven’t made resolutions per se, but more trying to adopt principles to incorporate as part of holistic changes in my life. No point trying to be specific, it just leads to disaster for me.
1 – Would you rather live in a real haunted house or a gingerbread house?
I’m really not a fan of hugely scary things and events. I’m certainly not a horror fiend. But if the gingerbread house had an appropriate level of waterproofing, or was inside a clear weatherproof box and I could slowly nibble away at it, I’ll take the gingerbread house.
2 – One practical use for your belly button is _____ .
Holding a tequila shot. I want to do the whole body shot thing at some stage.
3 – Do you trust birds? If not, why not?
I’m not sure how to trust birds. They might be plotting to take over the world for all we know. Those morning and evening songs they sing might be be elaborate distractions for humans while other groups plot their revenge on us. So no, I don’t trust birds.
4 – What’s wrong with you?
Where do I start? Mentally? Emotionally? Physically? Morally? I think the list is far too long, although a blog does allow for long post sharing.
Mentally: Depression, anxiety, procrastinator
Emotionally: A lacking of emotional investment
Physically: Well I don’t have the figure I want, but I don’t think I have the time to work on it the way I should
Morally: Well that depends who you compare my life with, compare it with a Christian and I’m a poly, kinky, bisexual guy who is morally bankrupt. Compare me with the poly, kink or queer communities and I’m probably hella less bankrupt.
5 – Would you rather be a millionaire but NOT have friends or family or be broke but have friends and family?
I think friends and family are far more important than money. Yes money will help pay the bills, but without people around you, who can relate with you, who knows what sort of person you will become.
1 – Would you rather work on Christmas day and earn 4 times your daily salary or spend the day with your family?
Now that’s somewhat of a hard one. While I do love my family, I also know that 3 days of pay will certainly help with the bills and money, and buying Christmas presents for the kids.
Maybe if I worked Christmas Eve, and could be with the family from the morning through the rest of the day I would take the money, but then that is taking both options, and I think the objective is to pick one.
If forced to pick one, I’ll take Christmas Day with the family. Memories are what life is about, not so much money as I have alluded to before.
2 – Would you rather spend a snowy day outside playing winter games/sports or spend a snowy day inside with your most annoying relative?
Can I swap a snowy day for a stinking hot day?
I think I’ll take the stinking hot day over the really annoying relative. I’ll take the car for a drive to the beach, or the pool, or somewhere that I can cool down out of the sun of course (gotta protect my pale ass skin somehow).
3 – For the month of December would you rather sing jingle bells really loud every time you enter a room or wear a Santa suit every day?
Ughhhh. Can I pick something other than those two choices?
I might take Jingle Bells if I can sing alternate versions to mix things up.
4 – Would you rather choose your presents or be surprised?
I’d much rather choose my presents, I get what I want, not what someone else thinks I might want. Although my most recent surprise was a Safety Razor that has turned into a new self care habit. So not all surprises are useless junk.
5 – Would you rather be Scrooge before he meets the ghost of Christmas or be the Grinch before becoming good?
I don’t really know either of those storylines. However I refer to myself as the Grinch in the leadup to Christmas most years, so I’ll go with the Grinch.
Maybe I need to watch both movies now. *wanders away pondering*
1 – What is something minor or seemingly insignificant in your life that actually contributes greatly to your happiness?
I feel like some recognition and thanks goes a long way. Yes there are some things that you need to do, but even just a little thanks, even from senior managers goes a long way to feeling appreciated. Yes doing your job doesn’t need thanks to be given, but it goes a long way to the motivation of employees. Happy employees equals more productive employees.

3 – Have you ever been screwed over? What happened and how did you respond?
There are some days I feel like this happens every day in my life. Yes I might just be a whinger, and it probably happens far less than I think it does.
4 – What did you think was cool when you were young but is not cool now?
So many things. There were many things as a child that I remembered being cool and exciting and wanting to return to as an adult when I had more freedom, but when I go to them now as an adult, they don’t spark the same joy and excitement from all those years ago.
5 – Would you rather stay in or go out on a Friday night?
Generally I’m a home body. I’m an introvert and a quiet night at home, with the TV, movie and popcorn sounds delightful. Snuggling with a lovely partner takes it to the next level.
